I am a confessed lover for everything that has to do with this lady in the picture. Anyone guess who that is? But what caught my attention immediately beyond the beauty of the picture and the brightness in the eye is the color of the feathers. Isn't she beautiful?!

Sou uma confessa apaixonada por tudo o que tem a ver com esta senhora da foto. Alguém adivinha de quem se trata? Mas o que me chamou a atenção para além de a ter reconhecido imediatamente foi a beleza da foto, do brilho no olho, da côr e das penas que eu também gosto muito. Não é linda??
It reminded me of the so common use of feathers in Decor these days. One of my favorites is the Juju Hat. It's Handmade in Cameroon and it's traditionally worn by royal dancers of the Bamileke tribe. It symbolises prosperity and the positive qualities of birds. It's made of dyed chicken feathers hand stitched into a woven raffia basket that folds into itself for easy transportation and storage.

Isto fez-me lembrar o comum uso das penas, hoje em dia, na decoração. Um dos meus favoritos é o 'Juju Hat'. É um objecto feito à mão nas ilhas Camarões e é tradicionalmente usado pelos dançarinos da tribo real Bamileke. Ele simboliza a prosperidade e as qualidades positivas das aves. É feito de penas de galinha tingidas à mão e cosidas numa cesta de ráfia. No fim resulta numa espécie de cesto que se dobra em si mesmo para facilitar o transporte e armazenamento.
But other objects can also be light as... a feather (get it?).
